1,000 years is a very long time, so we can only imagine, but consider how magical the 21st century would seem to someone from the 11th century from a technological viewpoint, and how amoral and sinful from a religious perspective (religion in the 11th century was central to almost everything).

We judge the past harshly because we can’t imagine how everyday life was before literacy, the rise of laws, the rise of merchants and markets, or before the very concept of equality arose. These ideas developed slowly, and are disputed even today.

In 1,000 years from now, it is highly probable that people will look back on us then, much the same way we look back on those from 1,000 years before us. People will look back at us as being unbelievably stupid and frighteningly lacking in morals. Having faced the terrors of the 20th century, including two global wars, we still had weapons of mass destruction. Religions still had influence even though it was common knowledge that they were inconsistent and contradictory. They will acknowledge that we achieved some amazing accomplishments considering what we had at our disposal in our time.

Predicting the future can be a fool’s errand. In 1,000 years we'll probably have a thriving civilization on Mars, the Moon, or maybe even another planet beyond the solar system. We've already discovered billions and billions of planets.

In the future, humans may have a totally different civilization than what we have today. Changes will take place in Politics, Culture, Social, Trade and Commerce, Economics, in all spheres of human life, thus altering the life as we know today.

Whether you like it or not, people will keep doing things that will contribute to their societies, thus tampering with our civilization.

In reality, 1,000 years in the future, nobody would care what was written in these columns. Imagine that, in 1000 years, it would not matter what you ever said. (After a few generations, nobody remembers you).

That means, we must focus on reason to guide us. I may hate the Europeans or Americans, they are still humans. We must figure out how to navigate the world together, whether as Africans, Americans, Europeans or Asians. We still must grow together.

As humans are mortals, we should learn, work and contribute to our societies during our working years. In later years, we should come out of the rat race and help younger people to achieve their goals. By helping or guiding others, you may increase your mortality by few more generations.

Live, enjoy and respect nature. Try to protect it while you can. Nothing can save the planet; it will die in about a few billion years when the Sun dies. And when the Earth is gone no one in Universe will ever know that the Earth even existed.

Enjoy and Live Your Life to the Fullest
